After the welcome address by Radha Krishnan, President, DEP, the day was launched by the Key Note Speakers, Kevin Miller, Body CAE Director, General Motors, and Randy Frank, Global Virtual Verification CAE Chief Engineer, Ford Motor Company. Their presentations were of great value as they shared their vision and roadmaps for CAE leading development processes. Their words detailing how MeshWorks makes a powerful daily impact reducing development time, better optimizing products, and streamlining data driven processes, confirms DEP’s important role.

Following this was the panel discussion on the topic “CAE leads the way during product development- Are we there yet?” with experienced industry speakers like Dr. Simon Xu, Engg. Group Manager, General Motors Corp, Jerry Chung, Manager, American Axle, Shashi Maire, Supervisor, Ford Motor Company, Gagan Tandon, Director, Product Development, ArcelorMittal and David Anderson, Senior Director, Automotive Technical Programs, SMDI. These industry recognized panelists and presenters kept everyone’s attention with their topics that generated lively question and answer sessions.

The unveiling of MeshWorks 8.0 created quite a buzz, and the excitement and interest generated is a testament to the growth and adoption of DEP MeshWorks as an industry standard CAE software platform, now used throughout the product development process. Speaking on the occasion, Radha Krishnan, President, DEP said, “DEP will continue to work hard to ensure MeshWorks remains the industry advanced CAE standard forLightweighting, Optimization, Morphing, Automated Meshing, Fast Modeling, and Process Automation. Our goal is to significantly push the needle for CAE to take a lead role in product development by utilizing MeshWorks as the paradigm shifting force it is showing to be.”

The afternoon had 2 parallel sessions, which showcased technical papers from several customers, outlining the latest in CAE strategy, methodology, techniques and applications. And to wrap the day and unwind, was a cocktail reception in the evening, which provided a great networking opportunity with industry leaders, colleagues and partners.
