Engine Block Head Durability Wizard

DEP’s Powertrain wizard is an advanced high productivity CAE software Wizard that will automate engine and transmission modeling, assembly, analysis and post-processing tasks. Complex engine assemblies comprising of the engine block, cylinder head, liners, valve inserts, guides etc. can be rapidly meshed from CAD data, assembled with contact interfaces, analyzed using industry standard solvers and post-processed for engine specific output parameters.

The Powertrain wizard assures tremendous productivity gain so much so that it reduces typical powertrain modeling/assembly/analysis processes by an order of magnitude!!! For example a complete engine assembly durability analysis process starting from CAD data to final report generation can be executed in just 2 days as opposed to 8 weeksusing conventional tools.

MESHING MODULE

The Meshing module comprises of several automated CAD operations customized for powertrain modeling.
These will include automated steps for:
a) Slicing block, head CAD data at cut planes for global and local model generation.
b) Modeling combustion chamber in a preferred way to facilitate accurate stress analysis.
c) Setting up contact zones between mating components with matched node and element pattern.
d) Setting up foot print of features of the gasket on to the block and head for common mesh pattern.
e) Organizing CAD data into specific zones such as water jackets, cylinder liners etc.
f) Automatic recognition and organization of fillets.
g) Automatic CAD clean-up of poor quality CAD data.

We also give Native CAD support.
Zone based meshing approach which makes it very easy for users to assign different meshing parameters for different zones. (Other pre-processors involve tedious edge based meshing control.).
Advanced meshing options such as ‘mapped’ meshing in fillets, ‘alternate triangles’ in cylinder liners, gradation control etc. that can be specified in various zones.
Water tight skin mesh and tetra mesh generated automatically with high degree of ‘durability qualit’ mesh control.
